1st day: Morning arrival in Forlì. City tour: Piazza Saffi, the abbey of San Mercuriale, and the church San Biagio.
Lunch at a restaurant in the city.
Early afternoon visit to the newly restored cultural center within the San Donato abbey for an art exhibition dedicated to the Santarcangelo-born painter Guido Cagnacci*, the “Pinacoteca” picture gallery, the cathedral, the Chiesa dei Servi church, or other museums throughout the city. Transfer to Castrocaro Terme and Grand Hotel accommodations.
Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
2nd day: Breakfast at the hotel and morning open to leisure activities and spa treatments.
Open lunch.
Transfer to Meldola. Tour of the town and its monuments including the seventeenth-century hospital building that contains important Renaissance frescoes from the school of Melozzo. Winetasting at a neighboring vineyard and winery.
Return to Castrocaro Terme.

3rd day: Breakfast at the hotel and tour of Castrocaro. The town provides an excellent example of the typical villages of Tuscan Romagna. Excursion to the medieval castle and winetasting upon request. Visit to the church of SS. Niccolò and Francesco that displays an important work by M. Palmezzano.

4th day: Breakfast at the hotel. Tour of Terra del Sole, a rare example of the ideal renaissance town. Visit to the medieval citadel and the Museum of Man and the Environment.

3) Museums of the Rubicone Valley
3 days/2 nights
1st day: Morning arrival in Savignano sul Rubicone. Tour of the Romanic parish church of Compito and the adjacent Museum of Archeology. Lunch at a restaurant in Savignano. In the afternoon, visit to the Casadei Sonora record company that displays original archives, lyrics, and music scores by the great master Secondo Casadei, author of the regional anthem “Romagna Mia”.
Transfer to Roncofreddo, where it is possible to visit the recently inaugurated Museum of Sacred Art.
Transfer to a local country inn.
Open dinner.
Overnight stay at the inn.
2nd day: Breakfast at the inn and tour of Longiano (2005 Touring Club orange flag). Possible visit to various museums in town, including the Balestra Foundation and Museum of Sacred Art.
Lunch at the inn. Tastings of the farm’s produce and products available upon request.

Dinner and overnight stay at the country inn.
2nd day: Breakfast at the inn and individual transfer to Solignano al Rubicone, a town often described in the writings of Pascoli. Tour of the town center and its various displays dedicated to the life and works of the author from Romagna. Cheese-tasting visit to a local family business where the cheese, which is known as local gold, is aged in underground caves.

2nd day: Individual transfer to Forlì after breakfast. Tour of the center of the city and the districts marked by Rationalist architecture.
