QUALITY STANDARDS TO BE
MET BY BUSINESSES INVOLVED IN THE FOOD AND WINE INDUSTRY ALONG
THE
'WINE AND DINE
ROUTE THROUGH THE HILLS OF FORLI’ AND CESENA'
At a meeting of the members of the FC Route, the Regulations, and
the Disciplinary Guidelines for minimum quality standards were
approved and detailed in 12 points.
On 3 December 2003, at the General Meeting of the members of
the Wine and Dine Route through the Hills of Forlì and Cesena,
the criteria needed for the quality of our food and wine tourist
industry along the “Wine and Dine Route through the Hills
of Forlì and Cesena” were agreed upon: the Regulations,
the Disciplinary Guidelines for minimum quality standards,
assessment of said standards and a customer satisfaction questionnaire.
The approval of the Disciplinary Guidelines for minimum quality
standards (of which there are 12 and were compiled on the basis
of a survey of the different types of facilities on offer),
and the commitment of the members of the Forlì-Cesena Route
to undertake assessments to check these standards, is an important
indicator of the seriousness and the willingness on the part of
the tourist business to develop food and wine intineraries in the
Province of Forlì-Cesena.
Briefly, assessment consists of drawing up a calendar of visits
to all the businesses, which will be carried out by a company with
experience and expertise in the tourist business and in the production
of local products.
As well as checking the requisites set out in the quality standards,
a customer satisfaction questionnaire will be left at each business
and the owner must agree to submit it to his guests. At the end
of the assessment, any businesses which do not meet the standards
required will be given a couple of months to overcome and definitively
resolve their problems; after which time should they not requalify,
they will be suspended as members and lose their rights and privileges
to the services of the FC Route.
When discussing and deciding on the standards and their assessment
to further improve the work and reputation of the FC Route, we
have always strongly recommended our members continue to attend
training courses and professional refresher courses which local
bodies (as was the case in 2003 with NEW AGRIFORM, IAL EMILIA
ROMAGNA and ASCOM CERVIA) run for this sector of the tourist
industry, with the opportunity to take part in schemes both in
other parts of Italy and abroad.
