Welcome
to the Hills of Forlì and Cesena,
the heart of Romagna
The Association “ The Wine and Dine Route
through the Hills of Forlì and Cesena” is made up
of more than one hundred private businesses, associations
and public bodies and was founded to promote tourism
in the Province’s inland areas. It brings together
the worlds of wine producing, agriculture and farming,
eating and drinking out and environmentally friendly
tourism.
The Route through the Hills of Forlì and Cesena
is a tool by which we can promote and highlight the importance
of our food and wine industry, which offers a range of
high-quality local produce which, although already being
widely available (“good food for the greedy”),
will certainly be further appreciated thanks to cultural
and culinary research and rediscovery; the creation of
this route will also undoubtedly help raise people’s
awareness and appreciation of the natural, historical,
cultural and environmental resources in the area.
In the hills and foothills around Forlì and Cesena,
tourists and travellers can now find a large number of
road signs and information centres, where they can obtain
further information if necessary: travelling over the
hills and gentle slopes of Romagna, whatever the time
of year, you can enjoy the values of the land and local
culture, the offers and facilities available, as well
as the competence, hospitality and warmth of our members’ welcome.

The Wine and Dine Route through the Hills of Forlì and
Cesena
One Route, but many ways to discover the land
and map its future development
Romagna: a land made for producing standard and superior
wines, a land bearing genuine products and flavours and a
land where
gastronomic creations are handed down from one generation to
the next, combining manual skills and tradition: all these
aspects of life in Romagna have now come together as a Route.
The Wine and Dine Route through the Hills of Forli’ and
Cesena is part of the Special Project “Food and wine
itineraries in Emilia Romagna – making the most of our
food and wine tourist industry” promoted by the Emilia
Romagna Region. But it is not just a road marked out on a map,
it is also a route which winds its way through the hills with
a bundle of pathways.
So the discerning tourist, who is also passionate about food
and wine, can now enjoy the produce of Romagna as he travels
through the breath-taking hills rising above the plain looking
out to the sea. The Province’s aim is to offer high quality
tourist facilities in its hill and mountain areas like those
already available along the coast and in its spa towns, allowing
our discerning tourist the chance to discover its beauties.
